Tucked in a quiet pocket on the shores of Puget Sound sits one of the most coveted neighborhoods in Burien, Seahurst. In this neighborhood, you will find wide streets, phenomenal parks, houses on large lots, some with views of the water, and some on the waterfront
Seahurst has its own coffee shop, The Bean of Seahurst,

Seahurst is blocks from the shops and restaurants of vibrant Old Burien, whose downtown runs east to west on 152nd.

Current popular eateries are Centro (owned by parents of a child in my son's class),

and two amazing cookie shops, Treat (owned by mom of child in my daughter's ballet class), and Lowrider. There are also several incredible yoga studios, including Be Yoga Burien (my second home), and Aya Yoga Oasis.

There are clothing shops, including a great kids' consignment store, Lollipops, a neighborhood goods shop, The Shoppe Seahurst, and a myriad of other stores.
There is an excellent neighborhood park, Lake Burien Park, which has tennis/pickleball courts, a playground, a running/walking track, a huge grassy field and an interactive game. In the summer, every Thursday, there is Music in the Park, which brings music and food trucks, and the entire neighborhood.

There is waterfront access at Seahurst Park, which has a gorgeous beach, a playground, picnic tables and a small store, which sells ice cream and summer toys/goods in the summer.

Kids ride their bikes through the neighborhoods, people walk and jog, and residents sit in their large front yards to say hello to all the bikers and walkers. Seahurst has a real sense of community, and it is obvious why this neighborhood is so coveted.
Seahurst is a 10 minute (5 miles) drive to Seatac airport, making it a great spot for commuters/travelers, while avoiding the flight path, and a 20 minute drive (11 miles) to downtown Seattle . Occasionally the sound of planes can be heard, but they are not flying right over.
There is a private community pool, Gregory Seahurst Swim Club (Gregory Heights is a neighboring community), which is pure gold in the summer. But, there is a years-long wait-list, so if you are even considering a move, I highly recommend putting your name on the wait list now. We were lucky enough to get moved off the wait list right at the start of summer this year!

The houses in Seahurst are beautiful, the community is diverse and friendly, and the residents love their Holidays, especially Halloween.
Leading up to Halloween, you will find the residents of Seahurst decorating their yards to prepare for the thousands of trick-or-treaters who will visit on October 31. Ghosts and goblins come from all over to trick-or-treat this infamous neighborhood.

This is THE SPOT to be on Halloween. I should know, I live here! When I moved here 3 years ago, I had heard about how festive this little neighborhood was, but I didn't learn how festive until I actually lived it. The first year was 2020, so things were tame, but still more active than any neighborhood I had lived in. 2021, we had around 1000 trick or treaters. I had to go to the store to buy more candy just a couple of hours in. And last year, I had to figure out a way to both tend to the trick or treaters and also take my own kids trick or treating. It was pure craziness! We also ran out of candy pretty quickly!

Even if you don't have kids, this is a fun spot on Halloween. Our neighbors have speakers in the yard, and the entire street fills with people to create a huge party.
Go here for some tips on how to decorate for Halloween like the Seahursters. (I just made that up)
It's worth the drive to check this exquisite neighborhood out. Or, you could move here. :)
Currently, there are a few great homes on the market in this neighborhood, offering options to live here, which is typically unheard of. It is rare for homes to come on the market here, and the few that do, sell quickly. But right now, you can find an affordable small new construction all the way up to a view home with waterfront access. If you are thinking of making a move here, be ready to offer quickly!

Seahurst is a fantastic neighborhood, but don't take my word for it. Come, visit, drive around, walk around (I did this a LOT before I moved here), party with us at Halloween, look at all the fantastic lights at Christmas, schedule a tour with me to see one of the fantastic houses currently on the market. Whatever you decide, I highly recommend spending some time in this magical spot. The neighbors are some of the best people you will meet, and the setting is extraordinary. <3
